The Legacy of Mentorship...Insights from Three of the Most Prolific Accreditation Mentors

And if you’ve been in the industry awhile, you know that having a few friends and colleagues in your corner is a must to successfully address all the duties of airport management while simultaneously maintaining your employment and sanity. For many of us, this realization was never more evident than while pursuing accreditation and working with a mentor. A cornerstone of the final phase of the Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) program is mentoring. In our context, that means teaming a certified member who has completed the written requirement with an accredited member to prepare for the final interview. You might think that the beneficiary of this relationship is the mentee, (and their achieving accreditation is very tangible proof of that), but after speaking with a few of our most prolific mentors, it’s easy to see the benefits are mutual.
