Ignacio Flores

FAA Director, Office of Airport, Southwest Region, ASW-600

Ignacio Flores is the FAA Director for the Office of Airports, Southwest Region, ASW-600. He oversees airport development in the five states covered by the FAA ASW Region. His responsibilities include: airport design and safety requirements and airport infrastructure development; assuring sponsor compliance with terms of Federal agreements as a condition of receiving Federal aid; coordination of airport planning considerations, with public and private entities; assurances that airport development preserves environment quality; and administration of the Noise Compatibility Program. Previously, Mr. Flores was the Deputy Director of Airports Division for the Great Lakes Region, AGL-601, where he was responsible for managing the daily operation of the Airports Division. He also held the following positions: Manager of Safety and Standards Branch in AGL; Standards and Procedures Officer for International Civil Aviation Authority; FAA Airport Safety Inspector, and he worked at O’Hare International Airport in the operations department. Mr. Flores holds a Bachelor's degree in Aviation from Saint Louis University and a Master's degree in Finance from the University of Illinois. He also holds a multi-engine instrument rated pilot license.
